Week 37: Baby is Officially 'Early Term'!
Your baby is now about the size of a bunch of swiss chard.
Avg. Length: 48.6 cm
(Crown to Heel)
Your Baby This Week
According to ACOG, your baby is now considered 'early term' and could arrive any day. Baby's head may have engaged in your pelvis, and their grasp is firm. Toenails reach the end of the toes, and your little one is practicing random facial expressions.
Your Body This Week
You may notice your bump dropping as your baby moves down. Braxton Hicks contractions and increased vaginal discharge are common. Nesting instincts might kick in, but remember to rest and not overexert yourself.
Tips for Your Partner
It's go-time for final prep! Double-check that the hospital bag is packed and the nursery is ready. Support your partner by discussing postpartum help, like a doula, and practicing breathing techniques together. Be ready for the hospital call at a moment's notice.
