Week 38: Your Baby Is Approaching 'Full Term'!
Your baby is now about the size of a leek.
Avg. Length: 49.8 cm
(Crown to Heel)
Your Baby This Week
Your baby is approaching full term! Toenails reach the tips of the toes, most of the lanugo is gone, and your baby continues to gain about half a pound a week. The measurements around the head and belly are now about the same.
Your Body This Week
You're probably not getting any bigger, but you may be feeling more uncomfortable. At your antenatal appointment, your doctor will check your bump size, blood pressure, and screen for pre-eclampsia.
Tips for Your Partner
It's go-time! Keep the hospital bag by the door and be ready for the call. Your main jobs are to be a source of calm and comfort, offer lots of hugs, and support her through any contractions or decisions about delivery. You've got this!
