Week 32: Getting into Position
Your baby is now about the size of a jicama.
Avg. Length: 42.4 cm
(Crown to Heel)
Your Baby This Week
Your baby's skin is now opaque, and their toenails are visible. That soft, downy hair (lanugo) is starting to disappear. For the next few weeks, the main event is gaining weight! This extra fat will help your little one stay warm and cozy after birth.
Your Body This Week
Feeling the famous pregnancy waddle? It's just your body adjusting to the extra weight up front. Your baby is likely in the head-down position now. Most importantly, keep monitoring movements. If the pattern changes or stops moving, the NHS suggests calling your doctor or midwife right away.
Tips for Your Partner
Encourage gentle walks together—it can help prepare for delivery. Now's a great time to work on that baby name list! To help ease her heartburn, the NHS suggests staying upright when eating and just after eating to take the pressure off your stomach.
