Week 14: Fingerprints are starting to form
Your baby is now about the size of a lemon.
Avg. Length: 8.5 cm
(Crown to Rump)
Your Baby This Week
Your baby is now about 8.5cm long and fingerprints begin to form! Their genitals are fully formed, and they can turn their head and bring fingers to their mouth. Inside, red blood cells are forming in the spleen, and they're practicing swallowing amniotic fluid and urinating it back out.
Your Body This Week
You might feel less tired and nauseous as your energy returns. Your appetite could start to pick up, but extra calories aren't needed yet. Try to pick healthy snacks if you're hungry between meals.
Tips for Your Partner
Connect with your partner daily—a simple hug can go a long way. This is a great time to sit down together and map out a prenatal education plan. Think about music, stories, and other bonding routines you can start incorporating throughout the pregnancy.
