Week 30: Brain Waves & Open Eyes
Your baby is now about the size of a large cabbage.
Avg. Length: 39.9 cm
(Crown to Heel)
Your Baby This Week
Your baby's brain is maturing quickly, and they can now control their own body heat. Their eyes can open, close, and even focus! They might have a good head of hair, and red blood cells are forming in their bone marrow, preparing them for life outside the womb.
Your Body This Week
You may be feeling more discomfort in your pelvis and abdomen. Moving around may feel more challenging as your belly expands. You may also have trouble sleeping or experience vivid dreams. This is normal, fueled by hormones and anticipation for your baby's arrival. Talking about it can help!
Tips for Your Partner
Help create a comfy sleep sanctuary for her with plenty of pillows and by keeping the house cool. Be patient and understanding if she's not sleeping well. Reassure her that the finish line is in sight—your support means the world right now.
