Week 25: Your Baby Responds to Voice
Your baby is now about the size of an acorn squash.
Avg. Length: 34.6 cm
(Crown to Heel)
Your Baby This Week
Your baby's nervous system is maturing rapidly, and they can hear and respond to your voice—a huge milestone! They're very active, sometimes jumping at loud noises. Most of their sleep is in the REM stage.
Your Body This Week
You might notice swelling in your face, hands, and feet from water retention. Mild swelling is usually harmless and caused by water retention. The NHS advises seeking immediate medical attention if you experience sudden swelling in the face or hands, severe headaches or vision changes.
Tips for Your Partner
Some partners experience 'couvade syndrome,' mirroring pregnancy symptoms. It's a great time to discuss how life will change and plan together. If you're taking paternity leave, be sure to notify your employer soon. This proactive planning helps build closeness and prepares you both for the next chapter.
