Week 2: Ovulation Nears
Ovulation Occurs
Your Baby This Week
Conception has still not occurred. Your body is gearing up for the main event: ovulation. Towards the end of this week, an egg will be released from an ovary. Fertilization may happen if the egg meets a sperm in the fallopian tube.
Your Body This Week
You might notice signs of ovulation, such as light cramping, a change in cervical mucus (becoming clear and slippery, like egg whites), and a heightened sense of smell.
Tips for Your Partner
Understanding your partner's ovulation cycle is key. Be present and supportive. This is the crucial time for conception to occur.
